Willie Colon at OT is a disaster. He's always being called for penalties. Also, I'm not so sure that backup Trai Essex is going to pan out. Essex will most likely be a career backup. At C, the Steelers signed Sean Mahan to a 5 year/17 million dollar deal two seasons ago, but had a dissapointing season and was traded back to Tampa Bay for a undisclosed 2009 draft pick. Then they signed C Justin Hartwig, who has had also a dissapointing season. I think missing twice in free agency will force the Steelers to draft a center.
My problem with drafting a OT in the first round is that their aren't going to be any OT open to draft. That is what happened last season when we were forced to draft Rashard Mendenhall, which was a good pick still. So, two centers could be drafted by the Steelers. They are Cal's Alex Mack and Oregon's Max Unger. After looking at each prospect, I like Max Unger more. He has more versatility being able to play both C and G, or even maybe OT. Unger is 6'5'', 300 lbs. If they decide to reach for a OT or a OG, I can see them taking Oklahoma's OG Duke Robinson or Oklahoma State's OT Russell Okung. Okung is a reach, but last year the Houston Texans reached for Duane Brown and so far I think it has worked. If they go with Robinson or Okung, I think they would draft Arkansas's C Jonathon Luigs in the 2nd round.
