Mike Vrabel Traded to Chiefs

Today, GM Mike Pioli brought in some leadership in OLB Mike Vrabel from New England, according to ESPN.com's John Clayton. The Patriots will receive an undisclosed draft pick. The goal here was to help the young Chiefs add leadership. For the Patriots, they cleared over 3 million dollars in salary cap.

Mike Vrabel was a former 3rd round draft pick by the Steelers. He spent 4 years in the Steel City, before leaving for Foxborough. Vrabel was considering retiring, but coach Bill Cowher influenced him to stay because Cowher believed he could be a starter, but not for the Steelers. He has spent his last 8 seasons in New England, winning 3 Super Bowls. Vrabel knew Pioli from New England.
